The paper tablet essentially transforms a laptop connected pen into a live graphics tablet. Some of the applications already developed for Echo pens include dictionary, foreign language translators, productivity tools, games, interactive books, transcription services, and specialized educational aids etc. The digital smart pen can also be web connected.
The pens and apps will be sold at Best Buy, while the pens and their accessories will be available at Best Buy, Amazon.com, Apple stores, Stable, Target and at Livescribe.com web site. The digital pen is targeted for sale at serious note takers amongst corporate administrators, businessmen, professionals, lecturers, students etc. The price of 4 GB Echo version is $170 and the 8 GB version is $200. The earlier 2 GB Pulse model pen costs $130.
